CNC Wood Lathe

Post by dale.davig »

Hullo. I have had an I2R8 CNC for some time time, but recently purchased a CNC wood lathe. Can VCarve Pro 11 be used as CAD for 2 axis jobs such as tapers, baseball bats, smaller bowls, spindles, pens etc.? All of the files that came with the USB provided software automatically opened with VCarve but I am rather inexperienced in general and did not attempt a job yet. Any assistance would be awesome.

Gary Campbell has some SideWinder CNC lathes. Below is one video he made. To find others go to YouTube and search for:
gary campbell sidewinder CNC

Perhaps Gary will provide details of his process.
