Hole size change
Hey there everybody!
Got a sheet all drawn up with 240 .25" holes in it.
Now the holes need to be .1875"
Is there a way to edit all of the holes sizes? Every-time i select them and try to resize it just shrinks the square that they are in.
thanks!

Hi there!
If you select all of the holes and use the Offset vector tool going inwards to a distance of 0.03125, you should get the result you want!
I hope this helps!

Talk about handy! I have spent so much time selecting holes individually! Thanks a bunch!CharlieP wrote:Hi there!

I think that is the first time something has been easier in Vcarve then it was in AutoCAD. I can't figure out how to do multiples in that program to save my lifeCharlieP wrote:No Problem! Glad to help

Re: Hole size change
There is the circle resize gadget too! GREAT tool as you can select an entire area, select a circle size, enter a tolerance, and then resize all to your new dimension. One minor drawback is you can't undo. You have to do it again and select that NEW dimension and redo it.

Re: Hole size change
Another hint: If you offset to make new holes, put the new holes on another layer. Then you can turn the first layer off when you make your toolpath. Or just delete it to get rid of the original holes.

Re: Hole size change
Using the vector selector tool on the edit menu can be great for selecting multiple circles as well.
Like Scott I use the Circle resize gadget as it does it all in one.

Re: Hole size change
Hello knowlzy0791,
If you are simply drilling the holes with a .1875 drill instead of using a .25 drill,
as opposed to boring them out with a pocket toolpath.
You would not need to alter anything on the design.
The drill toolpath will drill in the center of the selected vectors (circles).
You would just need to reselect the smaller drill for the drill toolpath on the original 0.25 circles.
I hope that this helps.

Re: Hole size change
Hi, We used the "offset vectors" tool to increase the size of some holes yesterday and now we can get the holes to be the original size. I can't figure out if the offset vector tool is somehow still active or what? We deleted the first set of files and started over. The holes in the VCarve set up are 0.44 and they are coming out 0.47. Does anyone know a solution?

It's best not to create multiple posts for the same issue as it just confuses the replies.thephridge wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 4:36 pmHi, We used the "offset vectors" tool to increase the size of some holes yesterday and now we can get the holes to be the original size.
