creating a fillet
creating a fillet
Being fairly new to the cnc world I'm attempting to make a cathedral top door with a fillet return. I used the arc command to form the arc and polyline to connect the ends of the arc back to flat surface. I want to create a fillet where the to lines meet but have attempted the fillet commands with no luck. Can someone help me see what I missed?

Re: creating a fillet
Are the lines joined into a single vector? I think this is necessary for a fillet operation.

Re: creating a fillet
Change the arcs to beziers. Fillet tool doesn’t work on arcs

The fillet tool works with two arcs in VCarve 10.5 or 11, but I wasn't able to make it work in 9.5.

Are the vectors grouped? Most of the tools that modify vectors won't work if a vector is part of a group.

Re: creating a fillet
Are the lines joined? You say you used the polyline tool to connect the arcs to a flat surface but that won't mean they are actually joined.
Best thing to do to get a 100% correct answer is to attach the actual file so the drawing can be looked at.

Thanking everyone that responded to my dilemma. Tried several different methods and still didn't help. Finally tried a boolean operation and created the radius needed and put the cut on the line for the profile cut and accomplished what I needed. Really enjoying the challenges this CNC world has created!!
