Lock vector locations

Post by skieva »

Is there a way to lock vector in position?
I am using alignment holes for two sided carves. I do not want them to get moved.

Place the vectors you don't want moved onto a new layer and then lock that layer by right clicking the layer in the layer manager and choosing Lock.

I just wanted to follow up on this question. I've locked the layer, but the vectors on that layer can't even be selected in that state. Is there a way to lock the vectors in place but still select them? For reference, I'm working with a jig that I want to make sure stays lined up exactly how I have it, but I need to reference the jig (for centering, offsets, etc.) to make sure the text I'm inserting is located correctly.

Before locking the layer make a duplicate of the vectors on another layer ( call it "_working" ?). That way you can access the vectors but have a backup in case you move, delete, etc. the working copy.
