Texture tool path tweaks

Post by GEdward »

While following a thread about how to go about duplicating a particular texture, I set about playing with the texture tool path option. Dealguy11 absolutely nailed it using vectors he designed and executed with a VCarve tool path. More than one way to skin a cat. Meanwhile, I was amazed at what making small adjustments to the texture tool path and tool selection can do.

This is very close to what the person on the Aspire forum was looking to duplicate using a 1/2 in. ball end mill:

This is what the same parameters set in the above, only using a 120° V bit came up with.

And this is what happens if you change a couple of parameters using a 1/2 in. ball end mill.

I think it makes for a pretty nice chiseled texture. Amazing what this software can do if you have a little time to play with it.
