Snowed in living on the generator.....

Post by moto633 »

My power is out but we have the generator running so we have heat and hot running water and a beautiful view of our back yard!! Almost couldn't get in the shop door this morning for supplies to hook up the generator!

Stay warm all!
Nick

I'm sorry, Nick.

Sunny here with a high of 60. I'm working in a T-shirt. Oh, yeah...and jeans.

My brother in law on the Eastern Shore of Maryland already has about a18" and is expecting another 12". The really good news is that DC will no doubt be buried for a while. Time they got a snow job for a change.

We are getting light flurries here in Attleboro.

Honestly? Having grown up in the Midwest (Wisconsin) I don't miss the wind. But it is a great place to be for the most part.

Hi Nick,
Sorry to hear you are snowed in and out of power. Good thing you have the generator to get you bye. The snow in the yard does look beautiful, but here in central California we just have rain and dreary overcast skies. Take care!
Best regards,
Wes

How's it going for you Nick?

We just got power back after ~30 hours and consider ourselves lucky. They say some won't be restored until Monday. Got minimal snow but a lot of ice. Generator kept us warm also, but had no cable/internet. Was planning on "watching" the SuperBowl on radio.

I hope everyone else hit by this storm is doing OK!

Well still on the Genny but have heat, water, tv and internet! I just spent an hour or so on the neighbor's bobcat digging out the drive (and tearing up my yard :lol ).
I'm about to see if I can hook the generator up to the shop so I can cut a project on the router I want to deliver on Mon
They say it might be Mon before we are back on as well.

Glad your power is back on Tim enjoy the SuperBowl!
Wes- you will probably see the sun before me!
TR- No doubt about the snowjob
Joe- you dirty dog! go on and make your grips in a nice warm shop!!

South Carolina is a little damp and cool. But better then the Wisconsin weather(La Crosse) I grew up in. Hang in there the snow will melt by May...

Have a safe trip Tim! I am about 30min East of Chillicothe and deal with some lumbermills down that direction! It gets nice in the spring and thru fall!!!

Going on 36hrs with no power running into town to get a plug to backfeed the shop panel with the generator so I can work a bit today! Gotta love deadlines in the sticks!!

Keep warm all looks like another is on the way!

You're right, Utah is a great state. I live in the mouth of Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons (East side of Salt Lake City), where there's the "Greatest Snow on Earth", with the best of skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiles, and of course the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. My son takes his Jeep to Moab and winches over the faces of the rock cliffs. Lot of great things to do here.
