Heart jewlery box
Getting a head start on Valentine's day. The one's with pink flocking are for great grandaughters and the one with wine colored flocking is for a good family friend. All made of Cherry.

+1 on the comments made above
I can never get flocking to look right Tried several different methods but have never been happy with the results so I just do rectangular boxes so I can line them with felt or velvet

Re: Heart jewlery box
It can be problematic and I have messed up a few. The adhesive has to be applied relatively thick and not allowed to "skim over" before applying the fibers. As the instructions say, "apply a relatively heavy coat of fibers and when you think you have applied enough, apply some more". The excess can be recovered for reuse. Then, let it set undisturbed for at least 24 hours. Also, I have everything setup before starting. That will minimize the adhesive's exposure to the open air. Ambient temperature is also a factor.

I hadn't thought of it until now but for small boxes you could mask off the area and apply the adhesive. Then just dump the flocking fibers in the box, put the lid on or cover it and gently shake it around in all directions. I think I'll try that on the next project that I intend to flock.

I find this to be a great use for the laser attached to my CNC. I already have to pocket shape drawn in my project. Exact pattern for the laser cut. A couple of pieces of blue tape hold the felt in place. Complicated cuts are not a problem.
