Butterfly box revisited

Post by SteveNelson46 »

I just finished this today as a graduation present. It was originally submitted with a wooden hinge but I modified it for small piano hinges. The wood is Walnut and the green colored flocking was her choice. Thanks to Andy at llwood for the original.

Great looking box. I like the hinge idea.

Thanks for posting that. I really like wooden hinges. I made a 25th anniversary album for my wife where the spine was contoured Cherry and the front and back covers were book matched quilted Cherry. The hinges were integral wood with a brass pin on each side. It was a tough job to fit it all together, but well worth it! A LOT of trepidation putting that together! It still lives and works 17 years later :D
