Teak Wood 'Keepsake Box'

Post by richbutters »

Here we have the latest from the woodwork shop. A 'keepsake box', 350mm x 250mm x 125mm. Solid teak wood, finger joints all round, antique affect fittings and latch with Linseed Oil finish.

Inside is a soft felt (My wife did this). I think it turned out OK

Very nice box with lots of room to add interior "boxed" areas as needed, too.

How did you source the teak? The width of the joints remind me of wood flooring, but the splines in the top wouldn't be there.

Hi Tex, I am in Thailand and Teak is sold in the local wood stores. Its not wood flooring but 'Teak Strips' that I biscuit joint along the long edge that creates a panel and I cut from the panel

i agree, nice looking box. You could add a tray much like CarveOne did for the Paradise Box. Just do a search and you'll find the post here:

Your wife did an excellent job on the liner. I always seem to struggle with those.
