My version of Michael Tyler's Turtle Box
the head and tail I did as a two sided carve out of oak, the legs I did individually as I only had scraps available I then decided to attempt a shell carve which I am quite pleased with, I then created a circular box for below, the neck mortice I did on my mortice machine and tail hole on the drill press. made an inlay lid and v carved my youngest granddaughters name and date of birth, as this is to be a birthday present from us. Finally airbrushed it with iredescent paint.

Paul, your Box Turtle version is outstanding! What a fun and excellent result! I love the iridescent paint finish, too!

Re: Box Turtle
That's a very impressive turtle!
But I'm equally impressed with the hand made cable chain on your CNC.

Re: Box Turtle
Beautiful, I'm making a similar one for my daughter, she loves turtles. Thanks for the inspiration, the shell really makes it special.
