Cherry? So these days that's about $8k. <g>

I am most impressed with the green coloring on top of the letters. Did you pre-paint and then carve down? If so, no paint chipping?

Finally - exterior grade/purpose? How did you protect it?

I pre-painted the wood (green Milk Paint) before cutting and applied two coats of shellac or the paint to protect it.
