Todd's Wonky Centerline Shoehorn

Post by rtibbs »

Decided to make Todd's Wonkey Zero plane Shoehorn from Peter Parfitt"s challenge.
To be somewhat different I laminated Walnut and Maple strips. The intent was to have the maple run down the center with walnut and maple on either side.
So much for my intentions. When the cut started I remembered the original file was not centered in the workpiece which would make no difference if I was cutting from a a single type of wood.
Oh well, the cut started so I may as well continue to see where else I may have errored.
I also added an epoxy inlay to the handle with my logo.
Well, time to cut some more strips and make a proper one.

"Proper one?" Are you KIDDING ME? ANYBODY can make a symmetric model - it takes joi de vivre, artistic genius, poetic license and a certain, "it is my art, if you don't understand this is not my problem" attitude to create such a piece! Call Christies Auction house and tell them it's a famous lost Italian piece found in a garage in Ohio and you are set.

Seriously, it's really cool!
