Fireplace surround in walnut. Finished with tung oil.
Started with 2" rough cut walnut. Modeled in Aspire with a 2 rail sweep. Cut on a 2x3 machine.
Buildup consisted of 3 pieces,,,an inside border, middle sweep and outer cap. Border and sweep were milled on the cnc and each piece was tiled twice for a total of 12 roughing toolpaths and 12 finish toolpaths for a total machine time of 37hrs 35 min. I was super happy with the tiling and only had a small register mark where the toolpaths overlapped.
