A set in hard maple, and a set in black walnut, straight off the machine. My tapered ballnose bit looks to be dull, but I've gotten 50 hours of cutting time out of it. Not bad for a $5 bit.

Yes. I may try the 0.75mm and 0.25mm to see how they perform.Is that your .125" shank .5mmTBN?

I just checked my most used of those bits...
I put a sharpie mark on the bit case for every 8 hrs(or 4 hrs on "Bit Dulling" exotics)of cutting...
My .25mm has 9 marks on it and I still use it:)
If allowance is .015" or less..sometimes a coat of finish helps(? depends on wood and finish used).
Now you have me thinking about tool handles:)
