Designed using Aspire. V Carve projected on 3D model created with multiple 2 rail sweeps.
Red Oak End Grain. 3/8" to 1.7" thick. 16" x 27".
Tung Oil and Poly.
Cut on Legacy Maverick 3x5.

I like like it.... Very impressive work. May I ask what bits you used? I would like to try and carve end grain also.

I used a 3/8" ball nose, 60 and 90 V bits, and an end mill to cut it out.
Scrap cut and glued
End grain cut great. Long fibers sticking up, way stronger. No chip out on any area of the cut.
Red Oak has very large straw fibers, still was a bit surprised as it run through 1.7 inches of wood, and didn't seal after several applications of finish.
Had to seal the back side with a grain filler because the finish just kept running through the piece and dripping on the table.
