Walking Stick Instructions

The attached pdf contains the step by step instruction and files for making a carved walking stick.
Should you find any errors and/or omissions please post them.
It is a lot easier to make them than it is to tell how to make them. :shock:

These files do not contain clip art, it will be necessary to add your own to the attached files.

I would allow about 5 hours for each half.
Only the carved part takes a lot of time.
The rounding and profile cuts only take a few minutes.
I usually cut several blanks at a time then do the carving later, usually evening or during the night.

The total material cost is about $10 including finish, hardware, wood, and shoe.

I only make them for gifts for people that need them and family reunion auctions.
Most folks that use a cane find they prefer the stick because they are easier to use, more stable than a cane. light weight, and they have something to lean on while standing.

I never travel without one.

These are too detailed for commercial production.

Thanks, Dave. Those are well written files. On the other hand, I'm not sure if my wife thanks you... :lol: :lol: This is edging me closer to buying a new 4th axis $$$.. 8) 8)
