Todd's Pod
This is my version of Todd’s recent Shop Phone Speaker project.
Using small pieces of wood, I had on hand I used Walnut and Maple for mine.
A few things different about mine are: I changed the front V-Carve logo to the Aspire logo and to ‘elevate’ my project I made an oval base with uprights to hold the speaker.
Between the uprights is a rendering of my old iPod Shuffle.
Also, instead of hex head bolts I machined some brass Corby Bolts to hold everything together.
Lastly, giving credit to Todd’s original design, I named it Todd’s Pod and V-carved the name on the back side.

That's pretty cool. Is the file for the project available? Where can I find it?

Re: Todd's Pod
Maybe I missed it but I was looking for the cut files to build the phone holder/speaker. Yesterday I couldn't find my glasses, I realized I was already wearing them.

Ron... that is AMAZING!!!!
Love every bit of it... and the addition of the base and iPod shuffle... very nice!
Above all... the name!!!!
Truly you smashed it out of the part and really did "make it your own"!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi Phil,
I’m so sorry - I thought you were kidding about not finding the cut files!
Well, I’m glad you got ‘em now!

Re: Todd's Pod
This "speaker" is supposed to amplify sound as well as support the phone. What do you think of the amplification?

Re: Todd's Pod
Well I do not have a sound meter however it does amplify the sound and of course it can be adjusted somewhat with your phone’s volume control. Does it amplify to the extent of an electric unit. No and I do not believe it was designed to do so.
