Hearts

Post by SteveNelson46 »

I made this a couple of years ago for my grandson and his girl friend. The top wood is Maple and the bottom wood is Walnut. Both woods were laminated together and then carved. It did take some careful planning to get the layers to come out right. I did it when I still had a Carvewright and even made a video on how I made the basic design but not the layering..

Mark,
Send me a PM for the link. The basic hearts were done in Aspire but the project was done in the proprietary software of the Carvewright.

Great job, Steve. Very nicely designed & carved. I love maple & walnut for contrasting colors.

Thanks to all for your encouraging comments.

Mark,

I guess it's okay to post a link to a YouTube channel. Here is the link to my channel.

Gosh ... I would like to make just ONE nice thing that I could be proud of before I die. I have made many things, but nothing that I can point to as an example of "craftsmanship." I just don't think I have that in me.

Don't let yourself be intimidated. If you have the right tools and a true interest anyone can make just about anything. It might take a while until you learn the processes but persistence is the key.

That looks great Steve!
How many times did you have to run it to get the maple two show above the walnut.
I really like the two colors, Very creative and good workmanship.
The video was wonderfully made, I enjoyed watching it.
