Recent Christmas Stuff

Post by gkas »

I'm busy getting my Christmas stuff completed. Here's a couple of new ones.
Santa's List from D&M Hack of the Week #163

I made several of the Tic-Tac-Toe. They're made with 0.75" Poplar and painted with rattle can. I forgot how popular this game is with kids about 6-8 years.

That's one of the reasons we got it. Marsha was looking over my shoulder and ...aaaahhhhh, "You need to make a couple of those for the boys". So, I made one for each of my son's families. The hack was a great price.

Hack of the week turned out well buddy
I was thinking about purchasing that one alongside a few others from D&M
That has just confirmed it.
Have you got any milling stats and tooling on that one and what fonts used
Great job
Regards

The Santa's List font is English Towne, Naughty/Nice is Calistro MT, and Name List is Lucida Calligraphy. All Vcarve is with 60° bit. Roughing is a 0.25 end mill and Finish is 1/16" Tapered Ball Nose bit.

Can't post the carve file... D&M models included.

What size is the plaque width, length and thickness and do you remember how long it took to cut? I would like to cut a few. I really like how yours turned out.

The plaque dimensions are about 8"x10" carved with 3/4" Poplar. Toolpath summary say 3 hours, which is probably pretty close.
