Wow...Quite the gift for an office party!!
IF anybody is familiar with CNC woodworking...it should be Quite the hit! :)
Your wife should be proud.
Well done!
How did you find Mesquite to cut?
Only have a very small piece gifted to me and never cut yet.

Thanks, Scott. While I have some mesquite cut in my yard, I have no way to process it. The mesquite lumber for this project, I bought from woodworkers source. They have project packs of a different species on sale every month.

Here in the southwestern part of the U.S, Mesquite is probably the most abundant tree in the wild and mostly used for firewood. Generally, it has so many checks and cracks that it's unusable for woodworking unless the flaws are filled and sanded. Usually with epoxy resin. That takes a lot of time and work but if one has the time the end results can be stunning. It is rare to find a clear board without flaws and, IMHO, your clock is an example of one of those stunning projects.

Thanks guys:)
Perhaps over influenced by Michener's "Texas" where he describes the annual "Man vs. Mesquite" Wars :)
Have a friend in Texas and we joke about the wood, but never saw or realized you could get a board of that dimension from a trunk.
Looks like it holds detail and finishes Very well!
Congrats again!
