King Neptune

Post by esteeme1 »

A few years ago someone asked someone to model King Neptune. It was a model that I always wanted to do but just never had the time to get it done. I did make a quick and feeble attempt and still have the model but only as personal reference and growth indication. I don't have a project set up for this but will probably burn it on my laser and frame it. The only reason for that is the fact that my machine time is pretty full.

Anyway please enjoy I think this is probably one of my better models. FYI this was completely modeled with Aspire and no subprograms were used.

Nice work Jim, figures and faces are just about the toughest thing to model IMHO.
I've enjoyed watching the development of your modeling skills through the posts of your completed work.
Make me want to get back to doing more modeling. Perhaps we'll do a bit more for Jim's camp this year :)
Regards,
James

Excellent, your model is on par with some of the best I've seen including the ones that were modeled in clay and 3D scanned.

Thanks for all the comments. I must say that I don't get a chance to model things for personal use but I was motivated to use the Neptune face for a Lone Sailor model that I was requested to do. I didn't have a quality pic of the face so I decided to model the Neptune face and sub it for the Lone Sailor. I just couldn't stop there so decided to complete it. All said and done I have about 16 hours of work.

Here's a copy of the Lone Sailor.

Thanks Michael,

I certainly had a great time at the last one I went to, and tried to make it last year but had to cancel. I'm not sure what my schedule will be like this year but I would definitely like to attend. My time management will have to improve before I can commit this year. I'm always available via phone. Number is on my site.

Hi Nick, Thanks, I have been known to help a few people with some modeling but don't have a a formal lesson plan. The vectric tutorials do provide a great starting point. If there is something you're trying to model I would be glad to help you.
