Sponsor signs

Finnished some sponsorsigns for a golf course today, Material Cedar, "sandblasted texture" with Aspire,
please tell me what you think.

Very stylish and very clean. Can you provide some detail on the purple one as to how you painted it???? It looks like you painted it purple than ran it through a planer to clean off the top letters, but that does not explain the clean lines on the recessed letters. Very nice. I struggle with this part of the projects. Thanks.. Scottart.

I´m not sure what kind of cedar this is as cedar is not a native species to Finland, it is sold to me as western red cedar and imported from Canada, my customer claims that it is redwood. It is very light and doesnt smell very good. Maybe someone out there can identify it from the attached picture? (i sprinkled a little water on it to bring out the grain) However, it is very funny to work with,especially as the boards that i got are of a very good quality.
I used artists acrylic paint for the colors.
For the painted letters I started with routing out the contour with 2mm offset(v-bit 0,2mm cutting depth), I painted the letters and masked them with MACmask 84.817
http://www.mactac.eu/products-macmask-8 ... 11--26.htm , then I routed the rest and painted the background, I finnished with three coats of wood oil with UV-protection.
I made an exeption for the "Fazer"-sign where the gold paint failed, I had to put on the gold after routing using "Goldfinger" metallic paste
http://www.daler-rowney.com/content/goldfinger which was excellent for this purpose as you just smear it on with your finger, let it dry and scrape the edges with a sharp knife. It got at least as clean as the masked ones.
