If you click on project tool path onto 3-d model it should give you the results that you want.

Gotcha, so you would cut the text as a v-carve, not using the quick engrave option (which has no project option)

Thanks for the advise.

PS - Just released I have posted in the wrong section !!

I have almost always done it as v-carve. On a few occasions I have created components out of the vectors and created raised lettering. Here is a sample. Houston Police and Texas are components created by text vectors. The word sergeant is v-carved onto the curved portion of the badge.

Thanks. Being self taught on the shopbot and aspire I have learned by trial and error. Trust me there have been lots of errors. The forum and tutorials have helped so much. Every now and then I go back to re-look at old tutorials. Things that were Greek to me when I first watched now make a little more sense.

Nice Job Cowboy

My next door neighbor would like that he is a Houston Police officer.

You live in the Houston area?

I lived and worked there but when I hit retirement age I escaped. I know what the big city looks like and growing old there is not an option. Too many crack heads and speed freaks.

Keeping in line with projecting v-carving on a 3-d model. This plaque went out to a retired game warden from Pennsylvania. The plaque itself has a dome or tapered shape to it. But the software accounts for this shape and gives you an even cut.

Thanks for the comments by the way.

What great work you do. I have yet to unpack my Shark CNC as it arrived yesterday but one day I may be able to make something as cool as this. Again, great work.
