Tripod Pedestal Table with a twist
This is an adaptation of Michael Tyler's project of the month back in Jan. of 2013. I changed almost every part to take advantage of the latest tools and features. When Michael designed and made it there was no moulding toolpath and that is mostly what I used to make the changes. The twisted legs were done as a rotary project and cut using a 3D toolpath. All parts are made from solid Cherry and finished with 3 coats of Waterlox clear tung oil based urethane.

Wonderful work, Steve! The rotary twist legs are a very nice upgrade for the project. Well done!

Re: Tripod Pedestal Table with a twist
Thank you gentlemen. I forgot to mention that the decorative parts around the legs on the top support, middle section and the base are cut as one piece. For example, the middle section is a 2-sided project and cut using the moulding toolpath for the leg decorations and a pocket to hog away the rest. The ability to use multiple tools on the pocket to get into the smaller areas is a great feature.

Re: Tripod Pedestal Table with a twist
Yes I did. I designed them with smooth sections (no twists) on the ends and middle for mounting the base, top support, and middle section and secured them in place with glue and a 23 ga. pin nailer.

If you do decide to get into 3D rotary work you won't regret it. It's a lot of fun and highly addicting.

Yup, it sure would be addicting! I just do not know if I have the time for it now with all I am involved in. My Woodshop Projects, BETA Testing Jim Andi Gadgets, Creating You Tube Videos, Life in General, etc....SteveNelson46 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 4:25 pmThanks.sharkcutup wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 1:57 pmBeautiful Work there STEVE!!!
