Bear Head intarsia
I made a quick Bear Head intarsia for someone leaving our office. I drew out the vectors in illustrator, then used a 1/4” up cut bit for the rough pieces. The total size is 17” tall by 15” wide. I used a spindle sander and random orbital sander to finish the corners. It’s made from American walnut, and spalted Alaskan birch. The nose and eyes are walnut that I burned. It has 3 coats of flat poly for the finish. It was a fun project after work for a couple days.

That is beautiful. I'm surprised that we haven't seen more intarsia projects on this site.
