toolpath Tiling is great for test cuts

I know tiling was developed to help people with machines smaller than their workpiece, but I stumbled on a great use for it.
I have been doing a lot of very complex architectural pieces for a large cabinet shop. The tolerances are very exact. I was creating my file than making a second copy with sample cutting areas to be able to make test cuts and experiment. I have found some new ways to cut some demanding 3d parts, but some of my experimentation has produced very pretty firewood. In those cases i have been glad that they were small sample pieces not large slabs of walnut.

Toolpath Tiling makes this totally automatic.

pick a tile size that will give you a representative sample
set that as your toolpath tile size
make a note of what tile number you want to cut as your sample
put a piece of test wood in the correct place on your table
save a set of toolpaths with tiling enabled
keep only the tile number of your sample area they are named T1_ , T2_, etc
cut your sample using the tiled toolpaths
if the sample is good just save a new set of toolpaths without using tiling to cut the whole job.

for me it has been a real time saver

Hello Bob,

Living in NL, sometimes i have difficulties with English translation and looking in the
manual to get more clearity about it, Tiling is such a word i couldnt recognize in one go, as what it should do..
However your description made it all clear to me, what the purpose is for tiling, thank you for that.
Of course i also should do more RTM (read the manual)
