Object mapping.

Post by Len-Tikular »

Whatever happened to 'Map object to shape?

I'm sure I've used that command in the past.

Basically, I've created an oval vector, then created a shape from it and gave it depth and angle. All is well, I got a nice dish.
Now I import my model (stl) and I want it to map to the contours of the dish.

I've used it I know I've done it but how.

I'm sorry but been away from Aspire for a while.

Cheers

Hi George,

The Dish' Combine Mode is set to Subtractive Merge

The model Combine Mode is set to Add (and you’ll want a Zero Plane too - also set to Add)

When you place the model in the Dish, it will automatically conform to the Dish recessed shape. The Zero Plane eliminates rough edges around the Dish perimeter.

Here is a video tutorial explaining various methods of placing models in a Dish (including the Multiply Merge technique).
