Aspire V11 overlapping vector
I think I know the answer, can you cut a 2D profile toolpath that the start and endpoints overlap by 1"? This is a composite honeycomb substate. We core the honeycomb using a woodruff keyseat cutter (T cutter) and I would like to start and end off part due to the large diameter of the cutter. I know I can large lead in and lead out but was wonder if this way is possible. I've not found a way yet.

Marion, you can use a Profile ON for vectors that crossover like that.
You will need to draw vectors that are offset from the desired shape by the radius of the bit you are using and extend your start and end point vectors using the node edit tool. Then calculate the “Profile ON” Toolpath. That way, you will end up with the proper size shape as well as meeting your goal of starting and ending the cut away from the final shape.

mtylerfl, I'll give that a try. I tried it as an outside of line.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Aspire V11 overlapping vector
I probably should have said the offset amount will be the radius of the bit SHANK, since it appears the bit you are using is a type of side-slot cutter (as the business end is a greater radius than the shank, so it cuts a side slot whilst preserving your material shape/size).MarionGreenlee wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 5:22 pmmtylerfl, I'll give that a try.
