No wink needed. If I posted a video, I was selling something. A product or a process, but selling something nonetheless. :P

Hi, I'm tasked with creating 8" tall truncated cones with a large difference in large and small radii. The cone is 4" wide at the "top" and only 2" in diameter at the bottom. We were thinking of first cutting four sided tapered stock that would then have its corners rounded, leaving much less to do in way of completing the conical milling. In this case, the stock would be quickly prepared with jigs and a sliding saw.

Does/can Aspire be efficiently used in the described scenario to save oodles of time? If not, that's a gadget waiting in the wings.
You could use the the wrapping/spiral gadget to get a cylinder and then the fluting method for the cone. Otherwise, you could take Gary's class and he will teach you how to hand code it. Attached is the setup for making a 1.5 inch cylinder 15 inches long.

As someone who has taken a few of Gary‘s classes I can say it is time and money well spent!

Although I've used the fluting toolpath several times to make tapered legs, the moulding toolpath and two vectors could also be used. Use a 1/2 inch spiral ball end bit and your table sawn tapered blank and don't worry about rounding it first.
