Adding Open vectors post-finecut

Post by iptvengineer »

Is there an easy way to add an open vector to a finishing cut? Looking for a way to add a few fine detail lines beyond the finish cut. I can use a pointed engraving 'V" bit to score a line, but haven't figured out how to get it to follow the z-axis curve of the finish cut. Can solve that with a laser, to burn a fine line, but depending on the height variations, focus can vary, and depending on the situation, don't necessarily want to darken the surface as much as the laser does. All thoughts appreciated.

Draw the vector and create a profile toolpath set to be On the line. Make sure the Project toolpaths onto 3D model option is checked in the toolpath and it will follow the Z of the underlying model.
