wonder if anyone can help me.
I'm having a few problems with lost steps, i have now realigned the machine and reinstalled all the software (UCCNC) but it is still happening. After many hours trying to work out where the problem is, it seems to happen when the spindle is in the air not carving. So my question is there any way in Aspire to control the speed of the router while in the air?
Thanks for any help
Stay safe in this tough time

Re: speed in air
The simple answer is no.
When the spindle is "in the air" it is probably in a rapid traverse, aka "G0" move. That is totally controlled by your machine. I would not bet that you are losing steps in the air on a rapid. What "seems" to happen is not always correct. BTW, you have not told us what axis are losing steps. That is not much of a help either.
Adjusting software is not the way to fix machine issues. Realigning is one thing, the other is getting the parameters for your machine set up correctly. You did not tell us how you have things like max speed and accel set up.

Re: speed in air
Thanks, I'll try and answer your questions
I'm running a Stepcrarft 2 840,
max feed speed is 50mm per sec
Spindle is a Kress 1050
Hope this helps
Thanks

Re: speed in air
Those are decent machines.
The problem is going to probably be in a control setting. Check your maximum permissible travel speed, accelerations, things along those lines.
I do not run UCCNC so I cannot help you with that. No doubt someone who does will be along shortly to help with those settings.

Thanks will go onto the UCCNC forum to see if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Re: speed in air
On the UCCNC forum you said you wanted to slow down the spindle during rapids. But reading this, I see you want to actually slow down the rapids.
To do this, just reduce the Velocity settings in UCCNC for each axis.

Great thanks, i seem to get the terminology wrong.
Will try the velocity settings as you suggest.
Thanks again

Thank you so much ger 21
I followed your advice and reduced the velocity on each axis's and now it is working beautifully.
Thank you so much
