Centering Text in a box not in the center of workplace

Post by GeneR. »

If I have a box in the upper left corner and put in some text them how do I center it without it going into the center of the workplace?

What I would do is draw diagonal lines from corner to corner in the box. Then click on the text twice, and drag using the center box to where the lines intersect. Then adjust so that it looks centered. Your opinion may not be the same as the program's.

You Could also select the text, hold [Shift] and select the box, then use the "Center Objects" icon, which is just below the "Center in Material" icon.

Draw your vector box. You can use the "draw text with a vector box" and you'll get a screen to the left of your computer screen. You'll be able to type your text there and center it in the box. If you draw you box and then type you text using the "draw text" icon, you would then click you text and while holding down the shift key, select your box. Then click the "align selected object" icon and then us the "align to selection" section to align your text in the box.

You could center the text in the material center - then center the box in the material - then group both together.

After that you cam just move it to where you want it.

As Gary says, use the align to selection icons. You have to select the object (text in your case) you want to move first then the item you want it to align to.

if it is aligning to the centre of the material then you are using the wrong alignment tools, the top row or icons are to align to the actual material size you set initially. You need to use the ones below that that say " Align to Selection"
