construction of 2 solid surface seam vac clamps

Post by stankern »

used 1/2 corian sink cut outs to make 2 vac clamps for joining solid surface pieces
just apply the pucks at the joint and use 2 clamps to pull in on the glue joint
takes a small vac pump 1/3 hp running at -18
The puck is flexible and 2 sizes of vac o rings can be used

I was thinking of making set of these. The commercial version of these clamps cost about $ 600.00. Alternately you could use compressed air vacuum generators instead. Are you able to turn off the pump once vacuum is generated?

no if the pump is turned off the clamps release
And the 600.00 clamps also pull together no need for a manual clamp to close up the seam.
I have not been able to think of what to use so vac can pull on the 2 pucks
"not yet"
