Flat area in bottom of cutout.

The bowl shape in the photo is 18' x 18" x 6" thick. The concave cutout is 5" deep. The concave cutout was made by using the "create shape from vector" tool.

Does anyone know how to put a flat area at the bottom of the concave cutout?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Setting a limit height value when you create the shape should do it.

Adrian’s correct, the limit to height option will give you a soft flat bottom ( see attached picture )
If you want a sharp flat bottom, just add another flat component and raise it to where you want.

In my universe, there are three answers to every question.
While having an adult cocktail with my wife this evening , this question started to burn a hole in my forehead...
So, for my third way you could use a the two rail sweep..
I know,,it’s not efficient or even “ easy” but it can be done..

Glad to hear that I am not alone in my never ending thoughts of how to solve a problem.

Again, thanks very much

Or use a fluting toolpath. This works in VCP too.

Many ways to skin a cat. Here's another way, just for fun...

1) Dome -Subtract
2) Full-Depth Block - Add
3) Partial Depth Block - Merge
