Any tips or tricks to gluing up the layers of a sliced 3D object?

Hi Angelo,

That's a very general question, you may need to be a little more specific.

Do you have a project in mind? What kind of shape, is it small, large, gigantic? Naming the material you are attempting to glue up would be a good place to start.

People around here are very helpful, so the more information you can give, the more relevant the help you will receive :)

If the question is how to maintain alignment during glue up...you could drill through for dowels in the same locations in each layer, and then, of course, use dowels for alignment.

I think I also heard someone say they used a little salt to keep from sliding?

I was basically looking at alignment of the pieces. I had thought of pins or dowels but I was just wondering if there were other methods people found successful. My project is the shark on the tutorial...this. My first crack at slicing.

So James....are you one of those strapping young lads shown in the earlier pics or the old codger holding the pneumatic wire wheel? :)
