I'm trying to create a border (and will also use this technique to create 3d roads on a map) and want to create a component out of it.
I created a rectangle and then did an offset to create something that looks like this:
The vectors are closed and go all the way around the map. I grouped them together and did a 'create component from selected or imported bitmap' button and it tries to open a file. I want to make that a border component and raise it about 1/8". I will do the same thing, but sink it for roads.
I watched Becca's tutorial, but I can't extrude this until I get it turned into a component. I'm obviously going about this the wrong way, any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim.

N/M, I figured it out. I was hitting the wrong button. It's working now.
