Post by Paul A »

When I have traced a bitmap with a vector I turn off the bitmap layer, I then select some of the vectors to group them the bitmap layer turns on again, if I turn off the bitmap layer again the vectors disapear with it...What am I doing wrong ?

Hey Paul,

It sounds like the vectors are on the Bitmap layer. Turn on the layer, select the vectors, right click on them and move them to a new layer.

Let us know if that works,
Tim

Tim,

The bitmap and the vectors are on seperate layers.

Paul,
when you group the vectors the Bitmap layer was the selected layer (even though it was off) so the group would be put on that layer and it would be re-activated. So when you switched the bitmap layer off the group was also on that layer and disappeared. As Tim said if you move the vectors (in this case the group) to a different layer you should be OK. At least this is how I would interpret what you wrote.

Thanks,
James

They were on different layers, I just needed to select the vector layer as current

Thanks
Paul
