I missed the last UK UGM due to illness and was really looking forward to this one, but holding it in the centre of Birmingham?

How disappointing.

I guess I won't be going, after all.

A bit forward, but perhaps we could share the journey and costs, if you intend to drive?

I would like to go, but...

I wonder if Brummies share that opinion about your neck-of-the-woods? 8)

Not certain I'll be going yet.
I may just jump on the train. My eyes are getting dodgy now so not keen on driving in the dark.
I'm fine in daylight.
I'm ok in the dark but just not keen any more.
I used to live in Coventry so I know the way up there but the train is far easier for old geezers.
Otherwise I'd have snapped you up on that offer.

My "neck of the woods" is nothing like Birmingham, or any other city in the UK, but I don't hate Birmingham or the people there. It's just a rubbish place to get to.

It's about two hours by car - each way, with unfamiliar city driving, or three hours by train - with at least two changes - each way. And that's assuming the train drivers aren't on strike. Again!

I'd rather stay at home, thanks.

EDIT: It's too early to look at trains for October, but I've checked for a Tuesday in May. To get to Birmingham for 8am, I would have to leave my local train station at 22:40 the night before, so it's actually a 9hr 13min journey just to get there. NFW!

Fair enough. I'm an old geezer too, with the same limitations with night driving.

It was just a thought.

So you'd go up the M5 then?
From here it's A31, M3, A34, M40. 2½ hours ish.

That train journey looks awful though.
Need to check nearer the time.
I guess I'd need to change once each way from here.

WHY set up in the middle of Birmingham?

Surely the venue at Kings Court, Coughton was IDEAL?

Excellent parking AND accommodation.

No chance of struggling to Brum for me I'm afraid.

Just checked the trains:
To be there at 09:00 I have to leave the night before. It's a 9 hour journey.
Coming home is 4 hours.
And for that they want £250.00 ish. :(

As I said: It'll be dark and I'll be tired so I don't fancy driving.
I'll be giving this some thought. :|

I’m relatively new to the VCarve world and class myself as a beginner in terms of the CNC world. I was thinking of attending this user group meeting in October.

Has the itinerary been released yet - not sure what level this is pitched at?

Thanks
