vector points and vector spliting

OK. im sure this is an easy one but been out of the game for a bit. i draw a shape and and put a line thru it. now i want to split it at the line so there are two vectors???? cant remember 101

Select the vector you want to cut and, in node edit mode, right click on the intersection and select "insert node". Right click on the new node and select "cut vector".
