Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
Those little holes of the smaller radius towards the center of the arcs are on a hidden layer and show up even in the toolpaths.

To get the best answer can you upload your .CRV3D file to the forum?
To upload a file or photo click on the Upload attachment button below the message area
Click on Choose File and select your file
Finally, click on Add the file to upload it to the forum
If the file is too large to upload here you can use a file sharing site such as drive.google.com, onedrive.com, or dropbox.com. They all have free accounts available

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
I see no problem. All is behaving as I would expect.
You have drawn 2D circles and hidden the layers that they are on. How is the act of drawing those circles and hiding their layers supposed to affect the 3D model?
As far as the toolpath goesit doesn’t appear that the 2D circles on the hidden layers have been used with the 3D finishing toolpath although was a bit difficult to tell as the “Selected Vectors” were manually chosen. Once a toolpath is created hiding layers or even hiding components doesn’t affect them as far as their content is concerned.

The e-mail verification is human-pwered. I’d guess the OP hasn’t got around to responding yet.

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
If you zoom in on the model you can see marks where those holes are in the 3D. If you want them gone you will need to do some sculpting in the 3D.
The 2D vectors are nothing to do with it. The holes/depressions are in the actual imported model.

I executed a share for the last requests. This setup went over night. Now I catch up.

The holes can be filled in.

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
Someone had mentioned this before in another post.
This is a new process for me and I would like a key list of how this process is laid out.
I am very interested in this way to continue on in Aspire as I really dont want to go back into my Ax and debug or develop more.
I just spent 5 months there and would to move on if Aspire vectoring can do this.
Clearly how do I fill in holes in Aspire 11.504?
Thank you for your answers and time.

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
If your surface where the hole is flat, very simple.
Draw a vector slightly larger than your hole you want to fill.
Select that vector and create a shape by Modeling Tab, Create a shape from vector outlines, flat profile.
Merge that component
Adjust the height of that component so it just hits the height of the area around the circle.
If your surface where the hole is NOT flat.
Do the above, get it close and sculpt it down or down.

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
If the model is yours why not just recalculate the model to get the holes to go away?

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
Or, since the top of the arcs are flat (at at the material top) anyway only use a 3D finish toolpath on the slopes. Then use a 2D toolpaths to drill and counterbore the holes (or don't if they aren't needed).
For that matter the slopes could be moulding toolpaths.

Re: Hidden layers showing up on 3d panel
There are 216 holes that need this attention.
What pointed towards working this in Aspire was I am getting 'Out of memory' warnings in Archimatix to which the developer never thought would happen. My Ax graph is the largest that has ever been built in this product. So I thought I would avoid the next catastrophe of a crashed machine by trying an Aspire fix. Now I have to rethink.
I am steering towards remodelling but the answers I received on my previous post intrigued me to want to know the true flexibility of Aspire.
I am still impressed with the software and the answers given here will definitely be considered in the steps with the rest of my models. Going forward I have a lot of 3d contoured projects that I need to raise my Aspire abilities to conquer.
