Aspire not putting sharp corners on v-carve

I am trying to v-carve a symbol that has sharp corners. Instead of pulling out of the work to make the sharp corners, it drives straight into it leaving an odd shape. Please see attached pictures. I have an old version 4.6 of v-carve pro that does the corners properly. But the old program won't work with my new post-processor. I have added a picture from v-carve to show what I am going for.

I found the problem I had "project curves onto 3d model" checked. I unchecked it and it works now.
