Finger joint bit
I would like to add a finger joint bit to my tool database, but it will not go through. It is probably because the bit returns back to the left so many time that it will not work. Is there a way to get around this?

Re: Finger joint bit
You can't create any form tool that would result in an undercut. A finger joint bit has multiple undercuts so it won't work as a form tool. You would need to define it as an endmill to be able to set feeds, speeds etc.
Personally I wouldn't use a bit like that on a CNC machine.

Re: Finger joint bit
If you define it as an endmill as Adrian has said you will be able to use it, you won't get a proper toolpath preview & you need to take care when using it to make sure that the bit is at the cutting height before it enters the work piece & exits the work piece before it retracts to prevent any sort of damage.
Like Adrian that sort of bit would be one that I used on the router table rather than the CNC, generally speaking it is faster to work that way
