MASSO G3 soft and hard limits

Post by fig.11 »

Hello
The controller for my CNC is a MASSO G3. There are times when I jog the machine and go too far, far enough to cause soft limit alarms that basically freeze the machine but the jog measurements will still show as it moving on the screen.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to clear the limit alarms without rebooting the entire machine?

You would be better asking this sort of question directly to the controller manufacturer or if they have their own forum then ask on that as there will be people with many different types of controller on this forum & you will get a better answer from a forum dedicated to that particular controller.

Found this with a google search, not sure if it will help

With many/most controllers you will set soft limits .05" or so inside the hard stops or sensors and the machine should then decel before hitting any switch or sensor. That said, if a sensor was hit, control should allow movement in the direction away from the sensor. (If properly setup)
