Why no 3d tabs check box sometimes?

Why is there sometimes no 3d tabs check box in my 2D Profile Toolpath dialog box? I can't figure out why its there sometimes and sometimes not and how to get it when its not there.

Please post the file.

I tried to force it to disappear by turning multiple things on and off to no avail.

What version of software too?

Only way to make this happen is Show Advanced Toolpath Options checked and unchecked.

An Aspire / VCarve file is not always necessary but does help. A screen shot (easily done with the Windows Snipping tool — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snipping_Tool ) can be just as useful. See attached image.

Some questions:

• In the quote above do you mean the checkbox is wholly absent or it is there but you cannot select it? (Here is where an image is invaluable.)
• What version of Aspire are you using?
• Do you have "Add tabs to toolpath" checked? That is a pre-requisite to being able to access the "3D tabs" checkbox.

I'm working on one job now that has 3 2d profile tool paths. On 2 of the toolpaths the 3d option is there but on the other one it is completely missing - not just grayed out and unselectable. This has happened many times. i never know if the 3d option will be there or not.

I'm using 11.007 and try to stay updated.

Yes, I've checked the 'Add Tabs' box but it still doesn't show 3D.

And yet it must have been been clicked so that you couldn't see the 3D tab option. Unless you were doing this on two separate computers and computer one had it checked and computers two didn't. If two different computers knowledge of which it would have made solving the problem easier.

It works on a per toolpath basis so it can be on for one toolpath and off for the other in the same job.
