Hi
I had a windows 10 update gone bad. Had to reset my computer. Lost ALL of my CNC files because extra drive became Unallocated because something happened to change my drive somehow.
Purchased a program and recovered the files (at least I thought). After I reinstalled Aspire, I opened an existing file and received the following error
ERROR Import Failed
Unsupported file type
Then it gave the file location
I'm not importing a file, I'm trying to open an existing file. The file ends in crv3d
I tried to open several files with the same result.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. All this grief because of end of service for my version of Windows 10.

Re: Error - Can't open files
Most likely the program you purchased hasn't restored the files properly. If the internal file structure is damaged then it won't be recognised by Aspire as a valid file and you'll get a message like that.
This is why a backup system/policy is very important. Even without OS problems hard drives and SSD's have a finite life. There have been quite a few threads about redundant backup strategies recently on the forum like this one - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=38146&p=277801
