HI, New to aspire and been playing with CNC for quite some time.
I have become quite good with land based TOPO maps. Kinda fun and make great gifts for people in the Govt sector.
Try giving one to your county planning commissioner.
I am looking for marine DEM's of coastal water ways. There are several sources for land, however I am unable to locate anything but navigation charts.
I have searched the forum and the best I found was doing a lake using lined bottom charts as depth of cut reference for lakes.
I am interested in doing the entirety of Puget Sound in Washington state.
Any ides that do not include a research vessel with side scanning sonar and a USGS grant?

I think Scott's point was that the information is available via a search engine such as Google or Bing or DuckDuckGo
try the terms:
One problem I foresee is that the variation in heights is if you include the mountains on the Olympic peninsula in your model the depths of the sea-bed features won't really stand out. It's the same problem when having the Vancouver, BC, Canada city area juxtaposed with the north shore mountains.
try the terms:
- bathymetry surveys
- bathymetric map to STL
- topological map to STL with sea floor
