Hi, I need to produce a series of circles with tapered sides./edges
For the sake of argument 300mm circles cut from 20mm thick material with a 3 degree taper top to bottom.
At this stage I have not attempted to cut any but at the design stage I am having difficulty...
I have been attempting to use the "Chamfer" tool path.
Is there a better way to do this ?

Thanks Highpockets
I appreciated your help ...A quick trial has convinced me to go ahead using the Chamfer toolpath

Have you tried a tapered end mill? Like a tapered ball nose, but a flat tip.

Re: Circles with slightly tapered sides/edges
Thanks ... I had thought about using a tapered end mill but dismissed it thinking the cost of these cutters would be too expensive
However a quick look on eBay and I have just found some that may do the job at quite a reasonable price.
I need to research these cutters a little more ... but thanks

Re: Circles with slightly tapered sides/edges
That's exactly what I use. Tapered bits.

Re: Circles with slightly tapered sides/edges
I'll second the suggestion for getting a 3 degree tapered end mill. Takes just a little though to have it cut right where you want it, but is the quickest way compared to fluting or moulding or 3D modelling solutions in my experience.
