Protrusion issue on roof

Post by Leo »

I am making a box for a small solar collector for my weather station.

I have the box done.

I was going to make a conservative utilitarian cover - BUT - WHY?

So I decided to make a fancy roof cover.

I am having a bit of trouble.

I got the shape I want - but there is a protrusion on the top that I do not want.

I have not finished this - so if there is feed and speed of other dumb stuff I will get that.
I just need help on the protrusion.

Something like this? Make the inside rectangle really, really, really small. I used .0001 for the width.

Nah! Just a 2-rail sweep. You'll have to zoom in really close to see the inside rectangle.

Steve,

There is something a bit off about your model. It comes to a peak whereas all four corners meet in the middle. Like as if you created a SQUARE - then resized it.

What I am trying to get is the front and back to be longer than the sides. In that, there would be a straight line on the top of the roof. If I sand off the protrusion - that is what I would get.

So - your design IS really close.

I really didn't understand what you wanted. I'll have to work on it later. I have a dentist appointment in a couple of hours.

If you make the inside rectangle long (1.75" x .005") then you'll get the shape you want.
