Milling Copper

Post by Panthera »

Dear users, I have been trying to engrave a logo on Copper, but I seem to have run into a gummy problem, the machine and the bit are all doing fine but the results are far from clean as seen on the picture, any advice pleaser?

A fairly lengthy thread about this from 2009 might give insights: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6182

Try an Onsrud 63-600 series bits.
Run the bits between 12-16K RPM and at ½ of the recommended chip load for Aluminum.
