Trying to Vcarve on a 15 degree inclined plane. Any tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Bob and Chrissy

Re: How to Vcarve on an inclined plane
Hey Bob,
Just playing with a down and dirty copy using Gerg K's Tilted Zero Plane.
Had to make a Preview Only cut for an accurate preview(totally unrealistic cut!),
BUT gave me a surface that I could preview and VCarve on.
Possible for your already cut 15degree slope though? Oops, with the Finish Toolpath it was too big to post, just plug a tool in for a Finish Toolpath,
and then you can VCarve on the Plane. Basically putting it here just for the concept for VCarve Pro...maybe with Aspire a much better way is available.

Bit more detail would help, is the material surface already at 15 deg or have you created that by machining?
There are different approaches you can take depending on what you are starting with if that makes sence
Screenshots & pictures always help

Re: How to Vcarve on an inclined plane
Why not shim it somehow to make it level to your to your table (make a 15 deg. shim), then V-carve it as normal...hardest part would be figuring a way to hold it while cutting.
V-carving on an angle won't be accurate unless your spindle is able to tilt and drive perpendicular to the surface of your part...the valley of the v-carve won't be centered and there will be a deep side and shallow side...just my opinion.

Re: How to Vcarve on an inclined plane
If it suits the project, perhaps you could perform the v-carve as normal, on regular flat stock material.
Then, turn the material over, and carve the desired incline on that side.
When done, flip it over with the v-carve facing up (now facing up at an angle).
